Commenting on the news article below, South Scotland Liberal Democrat MSP Jim Hume said:
“The SNP continue to occupy a strange political space with regard to Europe; essentially they are quietly pro-European, but ultimately they risk our place in the EU by continuing to pursue ‘indyref #2’ which would see Scotland having to renegotiate its way back into the EU over a period of years with no guarantee of the terms.
“There is absolutely no doubt that the UK should stay within the EU. Businesses have access to a wider marketplace; key industries like agriculture and fisheries are supported.
“But it’s disingenuous of the SNP to talk about the benefits of the EU and then risk Scotland’s terms within that union for their own political ideology.”
